Former Maury standout considering portal

Penn State wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith, a former Maury High star, is strongly considering entering the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports. Lambert-Smith did not play in Penn State’s spring game Saturday.

Nittany Lions coach James Franklin declined to comment on the reports and said after the game, “I’m really happy to talk about any of the guys that played in the game today and are in the locker room. Besides that, I don’t have a whole lot.”

Lambert-Smith, who quarterbacked Maury to the 2019 state Class 5 championship, would have to wait until Monday to enter the portal, if he decides to do so. He acknowledged the rumors on Instagram with a post saying, “I see it all. Stand on it lol [laugh out loud].”

He led all Penn State wideouts with 673 yards receiving and four touchdowns in 2023, but he had just two receptions in the Nittany Lions’ final three games.
