Jackson Okonkwo had four hits for the Gators, who scored two runs in the top of the seventh to tie the game and four in the eighth to win. Mikey Urbaniak, Hunter Langston and Ryan Watson added two hits. Tucker Rupe pitched 4 2/3 innings and struck out four.

#14 Great Bridge 7, #9 Hickory 3

Dawson Newman struck out eight on the way to his fourth win for the Wildcats. Casey Cuddyer drove in three runs. Adam Blackstone and Calvin Mabry added two hits, and Brody Comparto struck out five.

John Allen Stilwell hit a grand slam for the Commodores.

#12 Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 10, Benedictine 3

Gavin Angelillo had three hits, including a double and home run, and four RBIs for the Saints (7-4). Jackson Runyon added two hits and scored twice. Phoenix Hope (1-0) got the win, pitching four innings and not allowing an earned run. NSA went ahead 5-1 against the Richmond-area Cadets with a four-run fourth.

The Dukes dominated the Patriots in a Peninsula District game.

Bay Rivers District

Lafayette 17, Bruton 0

Josh Sims drove in four runs and Reed Smith three for the Rams (4-4) in a three-inning game against the Panthers (1-6). Austen Townsend gave up two hits and struck out six for the victory. Smith was 3 for 4 with a double and triple, Brady Kremer was 3 for 4, Sims was 2 for 3 with a triple, and CJ Buchan was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. Bruton pitcher Hayden Zimmerman took the loss.

New Kent 8, Poquoson 3

The visiting Trojans scored eight runs in the final two innings to erase a 3-0 deficit. New Kent’s Michael Hetzel was 3 for 4 with two runs, and Tyler Warren slugged a home run. Poquoson’s Lucas Power was 2 for 4 with a run and two RBIs.

York 7, Smithfield 5

The Falcons (4-4) overcame a 3-0 deficit and ended an unbeaten start by the Packers (8-1) as Jack Harmon drove in two runs and struck out seven in 3 1/3 scoreless innings. Will Hunt (2-0) was 2 for 3 with an RBI and pitched 3 2/3 innings for the victory, giving up five runs (only one earned) and striking out two. Jack Herrmann and Casey Cheaney drove in runs for York. For Smithfield, Mason Brown and Keegan Sowden were 2 for 4.

Beach District

Kellam 3, Tallwood 2

WP: D. Raines (1-0). LP: Taylor (0-1). Save: L. Conroy (2).

Cristian Hamilton drove in all three runs for the Knights. Davis Raines and Liam Conroy combined to pitch a three-hitter, though the Lions scored twice in the sixth.

Eastern District

Manor 25, Norcom 4

The Mustangs routed the Greyhounds. Newburn and Buck each collected three hits for the Mustangs, who drew 15 walks.

Southeastern District

Oscar Smith 15, Indian River 0

WP: Copeland (2-0). LP: Strauss.

Braden Copeland (2-0) threw a five-inning one-hitter. Dominick Zak and Willie George each homered.

WP: Gabrielse (4-0). LP: Dashiell.

Tegan Gabrielse pitched a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts. Cali Megaro and Taylor Ryan combined for five hits to lead the Hawks. Gabby Kleier and Aubrey Steckline homered for the Wildcats.

#4 Grassfield 11, Bayside 3

Charley Higginbotham had eight strikeouts in relief, giving up just one hit, to earn the win. Trent Drinon and Bradley Zayac each had three hits, while Higginbotham and Ryan Hoeft added two for the Grizzlies.

#5 Granby 12, Churchland 1

Alexis Hejnal was 3 for 3 with three RBIs. Lovie Norman (1-0) got the victory.

#7 Greenbrier Christian 18, Atlantic Shores Christian 1

Elizabeth Thome, Cayden Thomas and Peyton Moran combined for nine hits and 10 RBIs. Linda Hodge and Haleigh Murphy scattered three hits and combined for 10 strikeouts.

#8 Poquoson 3, New Kent 2

The host Islanders scored twice in the sixth to win a clash of two teams that were unbeaten in the Bay Rivers District. Brooklyn Arneault struck out 10 for the victory, outdueling Amber Greiner. Taylor Jones hit a two-RBI double, and Poquoson teammate AJ Smith was 2 for 3 and scored twice.

#15 Deep Creek 2, Kempsville 2, 8-inning tie

The game was stopped because of darkness. Kempsville’s Natalie Cornstuble and Deep Creek’s Bailey Cockrell each had two hits.

Bay Rivers District

Grafton 19, Jamestown 1

The Clippers dominated despite Lucy Barber’s RBI and Zoe Mayes’ two stolen bases and a run for the Eagles.

Southeastern District

Oscar Smith 9, Indian River 8, 8 innings

Mackenzie Blackman, Jaelynn Fuller, Calicia Mercado and Saada Brown all had multiple hits. Anaiyah Bartholomew got the win, while Kaitlyn Grimm took the loss.

King’s Fork 22, Franklin 1

Jordan Miller drove in five runs on three hits. Winning pitcher Jaden Williams had six strikeouts in two innings. Kate Lugers went 3 for 3 with three runs.

Cape Henry 25, Catholic 10

Annalisa Squatrito and Kendall Isenberg both went 4 for 4 with 12 RBIs combined. Cate Dixon had three RBIs. Ryanne Robertson gained the victory with six strikeouts.

Isle of Wight Academy 8, Kenston Forest 3

Kaitlyn Springle went 3 for 5 and had two of the Chargers’ 10 stolen bases in Blackstone. Kate Holland hit another home run and drove in three runs for IWA, and pitcher Nora Pye got the win.

Norfolk Academy 11, Peninsula Catholic 9

Megan Evans, Sophie Pollio, Caroline Chastain and Emmalee Bailey each drove in multiple runs. Mia Clarkson had seven strikeouts.

Ben Curulla scored the winning goal with less than 10 minutes to play. Luke Jones posted a shutout.

#8 Ocean Lakes 2, Kempsville 1, OT

The Dolphins’ Noah Ridgway scored the equalizing goal in the 14th minute. Jesse Gutierrez poked in a free kick from Owen Wilbricht in the fifth minute of the first overtime period. Cam Lambert scored in the 12th minute for the Chiefs. Winning goalkeeper Logan Carbine made eight saves.

#9 Kellam 9, Green Run 1

Caleb Perry’s four goals led the Knights. Charlie Dennison, Elijah Perry, Colby Atkins, Jushaun Johnson and Kazmer Dobrasz also scored for Kellam, and Monte Rudolph had the Stallions’ goal.

#11 APP 5, Tallwood 1

Nathan Lagbo, David Priest, Shaban Kilci, Johnny Lanza and Jaylon Young scored for the Eagles. Jace McSwain had two assists, while Jason Nofsker and Young had one apiece.

#14 Nansemond River 4, #12 Salem 0

Nick Conboy scored a hat trick, and Brandon Whiteowl scored one goal and had two assists. Stenette Byrd recorded his second shutout.

Bay Rivers District

Bruton 2, Grafton 2

All the scoring took place in the first 22 minutes. Mark Wilson assisted Snyder’s goal and scored himself for the Panthers, thanks in part to an Emmet Robinson assist. In between those goals, Benjamin Davis and John Chisolm scored for the Clippers.

Hickory 2, Maury 0

Caiden McHale scored in each half, and Nick DuBeck recorded the shutout for the Hawks.

Oscar Smith 3, Churchland 0

Marco Hernandez, Fernando Garcia and Gabriel Fore scored for the Tigers. Alex Dyzla and Julian Villalobos Flores recorded assists.

Poquoson 4, Denbigh 2

Lucas Markley scored twice for the Islanders, and Seth Tozier and Brent Vaughan had a goal apiece.

Ava Bourne’s two goals in the first 17 minutes and Skylar Miller’s goal and assist led the Patriots. Kylie White also scored, and Sydney Miller and Hollis Keenan provided assists. Scarlett Clark and Emersyn Kane combined for the shutout.

Hickory 4, #11 Maury 0

Abby Ostasiewski, Kayleigh Belton, Izzy Barrett and Chloe Venning scored for the Hawks. Kayleigh Belton, Zoe Cashman and Ariel Cruz had assists, and goalkeeper Abbie Hettinger shut out the Commodores.

Western Branch 2, #15 Tabb 1

Madelynn Harmon and Keyah Prophete each had a goal for the Bruins. Jayda Sutton and Berkley Miller had assists.

The Eagles improved to 3-3.

Kole Gresham’s five goals and two assists and Liam Waldron’s three goals and three assists propelled the Falcons. Jake Carnell had two goals and five assists, Luke Rhoades had two goals and two assists, while Matt Goodman had a goal and two assists. Christian Braithwaite, Cole Beshears, Vaiden O’Hara and Hunter Faison also scored, and Curtis Bartholomew had an assist.

Princess Anne 16, First Colonial 4

Matt Lawrence and Luke Kindle scored four goals each for the Cavaliers. Derek Lindenberg and Noah McCarty added three goals each, while Dylan Tennien and Diego Cobos had one apiece.

Addison Kiser had four goals and Kylan Carini three for the Patriots. Both controlled seven draws. Noor Nagy had 15 saves for FC, and Emma Fletcher and Hailey Hapenney had an assist apiece. For the Cavaliers, Claire Holmes scored three goals, Peyton Bemis two and Mai Ly one.

Madeleine Keogh had 11 goals and 12 draw controls for the Dolphins. Liza Pridgen, who had three assists and four draw controls; Emma Hardy, who had five assists; Lylah Mellott, Brynn Barley and Sallee Carbone also scored. Rhiannon Walter had five saves and Saby Bartko two.
