Four of the five people charged in the gang-related killing of Tyosha Mitchell last spring have been indicted on federal charges and are facing as much as life in prison.

Mitchell, 25, who at the time was the “Krown Prinxess,” meaning highest-ranking woman, of a regional set of the street gang the Almighty Black P. Stone Nation, May 6. Her body was near the tree line along Old Williamsburg Road in Yorktown, about halfway between Riverwalk Townes townhouses and Colonial National Historic Parkway.

She had been shot about eight times, according to court documents.

By June 15, five people had been arrested in connection to the killing: 25-year-old Hezekiah Carney of Norfolk, 24-year-old Jamica Langley of Richmond, 26-year-old Donnisha Goodman of Portsmouth, 19-year-old Acacia Jackson of New York and 25-year-old Jayquan Jones of Richmond. They were each initially charged with second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit a felony.

In December, the and Goodman and Jackson were charged with kidnapping resulting in death. Now, Goodman has been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and Carney, Langley and Jones have been charged with kidnapping resulting in death and conspiracy.

Jackson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit kidnapping in March and will be sentenced in August. The maximum penalty for each defendant’s charges is life in prison.

According to court documents, the group planned to beat Mitchell for 21 seconds as punishment for an infraction against the gang’s code of conduct. After doing so at her Richmond home, prosecutors allege in court documents, the group returned and took her to the area where her body was later found.

The group ordered Mitchell to walk from Old Williamsburg Road toward the tree line and fired approximately 14 shots at her, according to investigators.
